J.J. Abrams & Bob Iger Reflect On the Pressures of Star Wars

Well, who is the third-highest grossing movie ever, and in some circles the best return of the Jedi, it's easy to forget how good a wager was Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Ten years have passed since the last movie Star Wars (The Clone Wars with the driver just yet), and that the release led to the story of the saga, which had developed slowly in Darth Vader, in its entirety. No reason to say more. On top of that, the disgust that many older fans had with the prequels, and the pressure to do well (and the cost of the wrong) was immeasurable.
J.J. Abrams & Bob Iger Reflect On the Pressures of Star Wars

You must have a new interesting story that has made people excited about the future, while a strong nostalgia bustling and recovered from some of the more dubious franchise phrases burned. Disney and Lucasfilm took him out of the galaxy is not an accomplishment and is a proof ultimately involved in many creative skills but slightly less than the director J.J. Abrams and Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Interviewing Iger Variety, Abrams talked about the pressure of the film and how much money Disney property had largely emerged. Here is a transcript of the conversation:

Abrams: When working in the film was a great collaboration. It was amazingly fun.

Iger: It's very nice of you.

Abrams: No, no. It is true, we are in the camera. What are your role and the normal operating system for you?

Iger: In my case, and I remember you and I had dinner at the time you decided that you did, or you are considering. (Laughs) I remembered that it was the acquisition of $ 4 billion, I believe it was $ 4 billion $ 50 million.

Abrams: She said, "This is a movie for $ 4 billion." I remember when you said that I thought, "Oh, my God ..."

I think he tried to say, "Listen, boy, this is not just a movie ..."

Abrams: loud and clear.

Iger: A great responsibility, but perhaps in me the father. I wanted to say, but I am also in the process of telegraphy do not know if I am particularly subtle, but because of the size of the acquisition and that this is initially represented in terms of the importance of film it, is not treated like all the old Disney full movie will.
